My work objectives this year are to…

1. To focus on my wellbeing, aiming to thrive at work and in life.

2. To lead my team, trying to offer more coaching and fixing fewer problems for them.

3. To collaborate more in and out of my workplace, working more in the open.

4. To spend more time working on political, policy, and strategy things.

I’m working to…

  • Improve how we do software development
  • Increase the number of residents signed up to receive council tax bills and other information by email
  • Reduce how much we print
  • Improve our PCI compliance
  • Prepare an industry briefing for TechUK
  • Get approval for our customer service, digital, and technology plan for the next year
  • Draft a long-term customer, digital, and technology strategy
  • Consider alternative datacentre options
  • Think about how we might implement a four-day week
  • Create a product vision for a new service for residents moving to a new home
  • Manage or sponsor several digital, technology, and transformation projects

Later, I’ll start to…

  • Look at future transformation opportunities
  • Contribute to moving office location

I’ve recently completed…

  • Another budget reduction project that found a further £2.5 million of reductions and efficiencies
  • A re-architecture of our customer services technology that has more capabilities at a reduced cost.
  • The District Councils’ Network Challenge, winning the behaviours and best council awards.
  • Brought together a multi-skilled team to help stabilise our housing options service and begin a transformation project.
  • Made a significant contribution to the identification and approval of over £1.8 million of cost reductions and efficiencies.
  • A project to launch a new council website with a modern design, refreshed content, updated navigation, and a new content management system.
